ABOUT Melanie

Melanie joined Perkins Thompson in 2022 as an associate in the firm’s Real Estate and Governmental Services Practice Groups, where she assists clients in real estate transactions and in zoning and permitting matters across Maine. Melanie came to the firm from an in-house position where she primarily assisted in deployment of small wireless facilities, macro wireless facilities, and broadband infrastructure across the United States, representing wireless carriers and infrastructure owners in zoning and permitting matters. Melanie works hard to ensure she knows a client’s goals and needs, and thrives on bringing plans to fruition down to the tiny details.

Melanie graduated from the University of Maine School of Law with a Juris Doctor and a Certificate in Environmental and Oceans Law, with distinction. She was awarded the Class of 2020 Environmental Law and Health Care Law awards. Melanie also served as a Staff Editor and Case Note & Comment Editor on the Ocean and Coastal Law Journal.

Outside of work, Melanie serves on the City of Lewiston Board of Appeals.  Melanie enjoys spending time with her family and friends, especially in the Lakes Region of Maine and the Adirondacks in New York. Melanie’s other interests include hiking, horseback riding, reading, hanging out with her tuxedo cat MJ, and tending to her many houseplants.
